Opera House to host Louisiana jazz, blues band
This coming Saturday, October 24, the Grand Opera House of the South will host Ann Savoy and Her Sleepless Knights.
With their own twist of uniqueness, the band plays swinging and smooth early jazz and blues.
Members of the band include jazz virtuosos Tim Mitchell and Kevin Wimmer, Ann Savoy and her sons Joel and Wilson are joined by the Red Stick Ramblers, Chas Justus, Eric Frey and Glenn Fields.
A woman of many talents, Ann Savoy is a musician, author, record producer and photographer. Among her latest projects, Savoy and her band made a CD of Hot Club de France-pop standards. She has also made a twice Grammy nominated duet CD with legendary pop idol Linda Ronstadt, “Adieu False Heart” on the Vanguard label.
Over the past two years, the band has compiled and recorded a broad repertoire of songs, that produced the CD “As Dreams Come True.”
