Ortis sworn in as PP chief
Todd Ortis, who served as a detective in the Mamou Police Department and Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, was elected as Pine Prairie’s new police chief November 4, beating out incumbent L.C. Deshotel. Ortis took his oath of office Tuesday, December 23, in 13th Judicial District Judge Tom Fuselier’s courtroom amongst family and friends who gathered to watch the event. A party and celebration followed.
