Oscar Ray Johnson Jr.
CROWLEY – Oscar Ray Johnson Jr. 66, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Lake Charles on Friday, March 16, 2012. Ray was born on June 28, 1945 in Fair Oaks, Arkansas. He was a former resident of Crowley.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, Crowley. The family requests visitation from 10:30 a.m. Monday until service time.
Ray is survived by his mother, Frankie M. Johnson of Crowley; three sons, Barney Paul Johnson and his wife Lana of Denham Springs, Stephen Ray Johnson of Lake Charles and Jay Dean Johnson of Denham Springs; one grandson, Colton Johnson of Denham Springs; two sisters, Diane Johnson Ourso and her husband Milton of Baton Rouge and Gail Johnson and her husband Mike Simar of Jennings; one brother, Paul Johnson and his wife Missy and their children Kristi and Brandon of Baton Rouge.
Ray loved life and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, coaching and umpiring. He loved his family and was very proud of his grandson Colton, who is an extremely gifted student and musician. The family is especially grateful to Ray’s son Stephen, who took on the role of caretaker for his father these past few years.
Ray was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Ray Johnson Sr.
