Papa Noel scheduled to land at the Mall of Acadiana Saturday

Lafayette -- Word from the North Pole is that all good boys and girls should be at the Mall of Acadiana on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the parking lot in front of Coldwater Creek and Talbots.

“Santa Claus is coming to town, and he will be visiting with children at the Mall of Acadiana this weekend until Christmas Eve,” said Mall of Acadiana Marketing Director Brian Lutz.

“Last year, Santa visited with thousands of kids from over 11 parishes at our mall. We look forward to his arrival.”

For the second year in a row, Mall Management has partnered with the Lafayette Advisory Commission on Crime Prevention to host the Safety & Crime Prevention Day at the Mall of Acadiana. The festivities will include appearances by the Lafayette Police Department’s horse patrol, segways, SWAT, as well as the Lafayette Fire Department’s Smokehouse, the Lafayette Sheriff’s Department and much more! This year, Santa will make his grand entrance via helicopter courtesy of Acadiana Ambulance. Santa will arrive between 10:00am and 12:00pm.

“We are so lucky to have such a great community partner like Acadiana Ambulance,” reported Lutz.

Santa Claus will be available to hear children’s wishes Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.; 2 - 5 pm; 6 - 9 p.m. and Sundays, Noon - 2 p.m. and 2:30 - 6 p.m. Santa’s visit to the Mall of Acadiana is from Nov. 8 to Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. when he begins his Christmas trek around the world.
