Party honors Louise Villejoin as centenarian
During a birthday celebration Thursday morning, Mrs. Louise Villejoin was honored on her 100th birthday. The celebratory event was held on her birthday at Southwind Nursing Home in Crowley where the honoree resides.
On her special day, the honoree wore a royal blue and black printed blouse with black slacks. She was also presented with a matching corsage.
In honor of Mrs. Villejoin, the dining room of Southwind featured blue and white party balloons and party decor in her favorite color.
The party was well attended with lots of family and friends joining the celebration.
Mrs. Villejoin’s favorite meal, gumbo, was served to all party guests.
Those in attendance also enjoyed punch and birthday cake. Her cake was a double layer white confection with creamy coconut filling. A delicious white frosting and blue coconut topping completed the cake.
Mayor Greg Jones issued a proclamtion honoring her by naming March 25, 2010 as Louise C. Villejoin Day in Crowley.
