CROWLEY - Pastor Loyd Singley of Northside Assembly of God and Pastor Roger Tarver of First Baptist Church recently came together for one common goal, “to pray together for the spiritual needs of Crowley.”

The duo through prayer realized that the community was in need spiritually, this is when Pastor Singley was contacted by a friend and evangelist Doyle Jones regarding his interest in a citywide revival. Pastor Singley instantly knew this was what Acadia needed, “for everyone in the city to have a renewed, vital relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Pastor Singley approached Pastor Tarver about spearheading this citywide revival and felt Jay Lowder Ministries out of Texas was a source that they should explore.

Pastor Tarver explained, “I contacted both the Louisiana and Texas Baptist Convention to get their opinion of Jay Lowder and Harvest Ministries.” When Tarver received overwhelmingly positive responses from both organizations, he said that he “felt confident that this was the right direction to take this.”

Following a gathering of over thirteen churches at the Rice Theatre in Crowley, both Pastors Singley and Tarver, “felt good and ready to lay the ground work.”

Pastor Singley explained that committees, mostly of lay people, were formed to successfully organize as well as facilitate the revival in town and that once these committee chairs took over, “we took a more hands-off approach.” Pastor Tarver agreed that at that point, “it was time to back up and let the Lord work through the committees.”

Both pastors are very excited about the spiritual possibilities that this revival will open the area up to.

Pastor Tarver said that he, “expects to see God do what only he can do, especially breaking down those spiritual boundaries keeping members of the community from the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

“Those who attend this event should expect to anticipate a new, life changing experience,” explained Pastor Singley, “I really believe that only a good impact can result when one meets and accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.”

Pastor Tarver explained that he along with Pastor Singley and Pastor Bob Bradley of the Crowley Church of the Nazarene will continue to pray together for the success of the event and are all “excited to see what God will do with all of this.”
