SULPHUR – Patricia Jane Arceneaux, 80, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2009, in her residence.
Mrs. Arceneaux was a native of Crowley and lived most of her life in Sulphur. She graduated from Crowley High School and attended business college. She was heavily involved in her church, Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall of Sulphur. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and attended their school events. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening. Mrs. Arceneaux had a zest for life and was generous, kind, hospitable and an inspiration to her family by her determination and independence.
Survivors include six children, Glenn David Arceneaux and wife Renee’ of Sulphur, Greg Arceneaux of Dallas, TX, Sunny Gail McCulloch of Lake Charles, Suzette Arceneaux Dean of Sulphur, Gary Jay “Skeet” Arceneaux of Sulphur and Shane Arceneaux and wife Carla of Sulphur; one brother, J.A. “Cowboy” Wilder III of Opelousas; one sister, Billie Jean Rice of Sumpter, SC; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, David Walker “Sonny Boy” Arceneaux; her parents, Jack and Addie Wilder and two children, Renee’ Arceneaux and Gerald Arceneaux.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Brother Tony Pooser will officiate. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to time of service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
