Patrick Credeur, Sr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 19, 2011, at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Patrick Credeur, Sr., age 82, who passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at 8:15 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Interment was in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.

Musical selections were provided by Julie Broussard, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs were Amazing Grace, Be Not Afraid, One Bread One Body and Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Mr. Credeur was a native of Rayne and a resident of Carencro for most of his life. Mr. Credeur was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Navy, Seabee Construction Battalion, from 1945 to 1948. He retired from Frank’s Casing Crew with twenty-nine years of service, retiring as a safety supervisor. He always spoke highly of Mr. Frank Mosing and of his days in the oil patch. Family and friends will miss him dearly.

Survivors include two sons, Patrick “Pat” Credeur, Jr. and Steve Charles “Peco” Credeur, Sr. both of Carencro; five daughters, Selma Talbot and her husband, Ken, Sr. of Scott, Jo Nell Credeur and her companion, Darrell Miller, of Abbeville, Shirlene Menard and her husband, Randall Paul; of Breaux Bridge, Linda Credeur of Cankton and Sara Credeur and her husband, Mike Federer, of Carencro; sixteen grandchildren, Todd Credeur, Pam White and her husband, Eric, Travis Credeur, Taylor Credeur, Steve Credeur, Jr. and his wife, Shana, Sonya Broussard and her husband, Marc, Ken Talbot, Jr. and his wife, Jamie, Angel Venable and her husband, Barry, Jeremy Wimberly, Rachael Wimberly, Tamara Wilson and her companion, Shea Stires, Randall Joseph Menard, Natasha Gooding and her husband, Gary, Jason Credeur, Tonya Walker and her husband, Donavan and Heather Fontenot and her husband, Brandon; twenty four great grandchildren; and one sister, Patsy Borne of Gramercy.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Shirley Arsement Credeur; one son, Louis Clyde Credeur; one grandson, Joshua Guidry; and his parents, Louis Credeur and the former Aurelia Fontenot, both natives of Rayne.

A rosary was prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

The family requested visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.

Pallbearers were Patrick Credeur, Jr., Todd Credeur, Travis Credeur, Taylor Credeur, Randall Paul Menard and Randall Joseph Menard. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Credeur, Jr., Ken Talbot, Jr. and Jason Credeur.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the members and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes 5th Floor and to Heart of Hospice. The family would also like to express their heartfelt thanks to his daughters who helped him during the time of his illness, especially Shirlene Menard.
