IOTA – Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Northside Assembly of God, Acadiana Cathedral, for Pearl Spell Hoffpauir, 86, who died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 in Crowley.
Pastor Lloyd Singley will officiate the Funeral Services and the Burial at Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.
The family request visitation hours are observed Thursday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota and Friday from 8:30 a.m. until service time at Northside Assembly of God Church in Crowley.
Mrs. Hoffpauir was born February 22, 1922 in Crowley to the late Offord and Maggie Stakes Spell. She was a lifelong resident of Iota. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her church family and was a faithful member of Northside Assembly.
She is survived by five daughters, Jeanette Seilhan and her husband, Jude of Marrero, Elaine Benoit of Lake Arthur, Virginia Sonnier and her husband, Earnest of Crowley, Retha Dear and her husband, John of Jennings and Willa Hoffpauir of Marrero; a son, Hubert L. Hoffpauir and his wife, Gwen of Iota; two brothers, Cornelius “Booster” Spell of Crowley and Delbert Spell of Nederland, Texas; a sister, Patsy Solar of Marrero; 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 27 years, C.L. Hoffpauir; a brother, Richard Spell; a sister, Sybil Wall; three grandchildren, Torey and Monica Hoffpauir and Conrad Gamble and two great-grandchildren, Seth Guidry and Aaron Cormier;
