Peggy LeBlanc, guest speaker of October CAA meeting
Peggy LeBlanc was the featured speaker at the October meeting of the Crowley Art Association held at The Gallery.
Peggy had a beautiful display of decorated eggs from ostrich to snake. She uses empty eggs and decorates them like Fabrege with jewels and laces. She makes tiny doors and creates a scene inside. She explained the entire process including how to cut the shell, cut the doors, clean the interior and complete the project. It was a very interesting program. Shirley Griffin, President, lead the business meeting making plans for the kick-off event of Ribbons and Rice Christmas shopping promotion sponsored by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce. The activity will be a wine and cheese gala and will be held at The Gallery, 222 N. Parkerson Ave. from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 6. The CAA will have a Thanksgiving luncheon on Tuesday, November 11 at 12 noon. Members will bring the trimmings and the CAA will furnished a baked turkey. Officers for 2009 will be elected at that time. The meeting closed with refreshments furnished by Virginia Duson.
