Percy Joseph Thibodeaux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson for Percy Joseph Thibodeaux, 90, who died Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 6:10 a.m. at Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will officiate the services. The family requests visiting hours to be Friday from 10 a.m. Friday to the time of service. Interment will be in Hanks Cemetery. Sister Justine Baker will lead a rosary at 11 a.m. Friday.
Mr. Thibodeaux was a native of Morse. After graduating from Estherwood High School, Percy joined the U.S. Navy Coast Guard in 1942 and served as Seaman First Class until 1945. In 1948, Percy joined the U.S. Navy and served as pipefitter third class on the ships that tended to destroyers. During this time he received the Korean Service Medal, China Service Medal, and the United Nations Medal. He was discharged in 1952.
Mr. Thibodeaux is survived by one sister, Mildred T. Miguez of Lafayette; two brothers, Hilliard Thibodeaux of Youngsville, and Thomas Thibodeaux of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dugas and Edoris Mire Thibodeaux; sister, Joyce Dyson; and one brother, Rufus John Thibodeaux. He was also preceded in death by his wife Cora Cormier Thibodeaux.
