CROWLEY – The legendary Percy Sledge will be performing this Saturday to kick off the second season of entertainment at Crowley’s Grand Opera House of the South.

“Oh we’re very excited to have a legendary performer from Louisiana here to begin our second season,” said the Opera House’s Director Kim Gielen-Gattle.

The show begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Anyone who has a ticket is invited to enjoy some complimentary wine and cheese beginning at 6 p.m.

Percy Sledge has been performing for decades and was the highlight musical act during last year’s Rayne Frog Festival. His many hits, including “When a man loves a woman”, are known worldwide and his name is synonymous with all the performers of his generation.

“We still have plenty of tickets available and I’d like everyone to know that they will be home in plenty of time to catch the LSU game,” laughed Gielen-Gattle.

Tickets which are priced at $45, $55, $65, and $75 can be purchased at the Opera House at 505 N. Parkerson Ave. or by calling (337) 785-0440. Those wishing to go online for their tickets can go to www.thegrandoperahouse.org.
