Philaharmonic Orchestra to perform in Crowley
NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra will present a one-night-only concert, “Rhapsody on the Prairie,” at The Grand Opera House of the South in Crowley, Louisiana, at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 14. The LPO’s first ever concert in this historic venue is supported by a generous gift from the Nancy F. Link Foundation with additional support from Crowley Rotary Club, District 6200.
The Grand Opera House of the South in Crowley, Louisiana, a 20-minute ride from Lafayette, has been lovingly restored to its turn-of-the-century grandeur. An intimate small space, it is a journey back in time. The concert will feature the brilliant Musical Arts Society of New Orleans piano competition winner Dustin Gledhill playing Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. Also on the program will be Gershwin’s An American in Paris and Johann Strauss’ On the Beautiful Blue Danube, all under the direction of LPO Resident Conductor Rebecca Miller.
Tickets begin at just $15 and can be purchased through the LPO box office at 504-523-6530 or online at LPOmusic.com. Special VIP patron tickets with a pre-concert dinner in the fourth floor ballroom are available for $150 per person. Contact Mimi Kruger at 504-523-6530 x108 for more information.
