Pink Ladies’ Board hosts July meeting
The monthly meeting of the Pink Lady Board was held July 7 in the Conference Room of the American Legion Hospital. Ethel Thibodeaux, first vice president; called the meeting to order and called on Helen Zaunbrecher to lead the members in the Auxiliary pledge and prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
Following was Sylvia Dischler, secretary; who called the roll and read the minutes of the June meeting. Georgie Petitjean gave the treasurer’s report.
A card was read from Elizabeth Istre thanking the Pink Ladies for a scholarship that she received recently. In other correspondence, Sylvia Dischler reported that she had sent a card to Ethel Babineaux for a quick recovery.
Mary Briley reported that she has spoken to Joy Fragola of the Southern Eye Bank and Ms. Fragola has agreed to speak at the fall luncheon in October.
Georgie Petitjean and Yvonne Menard have met with Charmaine Vidrine and were informed that steam tables in the hospital cafeteria need to be replaced. The Pink Lady Board voted to buy new steam tables at a cost of approximately $11,000.
The names of six former Pink Lady volunteers were brought before the board with the object of awarding them with honorary lifetime memberships. Research will be conducted to advise the board before a vote will be taken in the coming months.
The next meeting will be August 4.
