Pink Ladies held monthly meeting on March 31st
The meeting of the Pink Lady board was held in the conference room of the American Legion Hospital on March 31.
President Yvonne Menard called the meeting to order and asked Nettie Romero to lead the group in the Auxiliary pledge and prayer as well as the Pledge of Allegiance.
Following the saying of the pledges, Sylvia Dischler called the roll and read the minutes of the last meeting.
Georgie Petitjean read and explained the treasurer’s report.
Ms. Menard read a card from Elaine Robison thanking the Pink Ladies for the kind acknowledgment of her brother’s death.
Correspondence was also received from the Louisiana Society of Hospital Auxilians stating that the yearly meeting will be held in Alexandria on April 9.
Any Pink Lady interested in attending should contact Yvonne Menard and must register by April 7, at a cost of $45.
It was decided that Auxiliary Guidelines will be sent to each prospective member so that she may make a more informed decision about joining the auxiliary.
A carnation was delivered by Yvonne Menard to Henrietta Hebert during her hospital.
Also, a get-well card was sent to Judy Libby after her hospital stay.
Scholarship letters have been sent to all the parish high school counselors who will recommend one student from each school. These students will each be awarded a $500 scholarship to pursue a career in the medical field. These forms are due back to the Pink Lady Board by April 16.
An infant changing table has been purchased by the Pink Lady Board.
This table has been installed in the lobby restroorn of the American Legion Hospital for the convenience of hospital visitors.
Members of the Board were reminded that their reports are to be presented to the membership at the April Luncheon to be held April 3, at the Town Club.
All Pink Ladies are reminded to attend the 10:30 a.m. meeting and the lunch to follow.
The next regular meeting of the Pink Lady Board will be held on April 28.
