Pink Ladies hold June meeting
On June 2, the Pink Lady Auxiliary Board members held their monthly meeting in the conference room of the American Legion Hospital.
Before calling the meeting to order, President Yvonne Menard introduced the two new members of the Board, Elaine Robison and Gayle Goudeax. Ms. Menard then called the meeting to order, and called upon Elaine Robison to lead the group in the Auxiliary Pledge of Allegiance.
Following this, Secretary Sylvia Dischler called the roll and read the minutes of the previous meeting. The treasurer’s report was read and explained by Georgia Petitjean.
Ms. Menard complimented Ethel Thibodeaux on the excellent job she did in researching and compiling the list of members who were to receive service pins and on ordering the pins. These were presented at the spring luncheon in May.
Mary Briley reported that she will be making phone calls to acquire a speaker for the fall meeting and luncheon.
Franki Johnson and Helen Zaunbrecher were recognized for their hard work in organizing the spring luncheon.
Ethel Thibodeaux distributed the new calling committee lists to all board members and will meet with the two new members to explain their duties. A new officer list was distributed by Ms. Menard.
A discussion was lead by the president informing the Board that there were several Pink Ladies who are no longer able to volunteer, but have distinguished themselves in the past both by working and serving as board members.
A list of names was presented for the consideration for an honorary lifetime membership for these ladies. This was tabled until further research can be done.
Franki Johnson was asked to serve as the chairman of the nominating committee, and she has accepted.
Elaine Robison will serve on the calling committee while Gayle Godeaux will also serve on the calling committee as well as keep the scrapbook updated.
The meeting was adjourned, and the next monthly meeting will be held on July 7.
