Pink Ladies host their annual Fall Luncheon and meeting at Town Club
On Thursday, October 2, the Pink Ladies held their Fall Luncheon and meeting at the Town Club of Crowley at 11 a.m. The ladies were greeted at the door and registered by
Frankie Johnson and Helen Zaunbrecher.
Yvonne Menard, president, called the meeting to order and asked Elaine Robison to lead the auxiliary prayer, pledge and the Pledge of Allegiance.
A new member was introduced by Gwen Oliver, third vice-president. She is Emily Robinson.
Minutes of the May general meeting were read by secretary, Sylvia Dischler and the Treasurer’s Report was given by Georgia Petitjean. Both were approved as read.
Mrs. Menard announced the appointment of two new three-year members who will serve on the Nominating Committee. They are Lou Matte and Sis Ziegler.
Mrs. Dischler reported to the group that there were five former Pink Ladies who were given honorary lifetime membership certificates. They were Rae Matte, Cecile Zaunbrecher, Sherlene Robichaux, Esther Guillot and Shirley Kilgore. These awards were presented last month by Yvonne Menard, Mary Briley and Sylvia Dischler.
The business meeting was adjourned and Mrs. Menard introduced the guest speaker, Joy Fragola, hospital liaison for the Southern Eye Bank.
