Pios remain unbeaten in league play
CROWLEY – The Notre Dame Pioneers continued their rampage through District 5-AAA play Thursday with a 6-1 victory over Erath at Miller Stadium.
The Pios improved to 22-3 overall and 6-0 in league play with the victory.
Notre Dame hurler Ryan Leonards held the Bobcats to just one run on six hits and three walks. He struck out 16.
Blaine Richard and Mitch Corzine paced the Pios’ 10-hit attack with two hits each. Richard drove in two runs while Corzine had a double and a triple and one RBI.
Austin Robichaux also had a triple and Paiton McBride doubled in the winning effort.
The Pios will be in action again on Monday when they travel to Lafayette to take on E.D. White at UL-Lafayette’s Tigue Moore Field in a non-district contest. First pitch for that contest is slated for 5 o’clock.
