Police locate second suspect

CHURCH POINT – The second remaining suspect being sought by Church Point Police for last months vandalism of churches, cemeteries and public buildings is now in custody.

According to Church Point Police Chief Albert Venable, 17-year-old Ashley Romero was arrested Monday night after his office got a tip she might be hiding out at a house inside town.

Last week 18-year-old Derick Vaughn turned himself into authorities and allegedly confessed to the crimes.

Police say the pair are responsible for vandalizing more than 50 places including churches, cemeteries and City Hall.
