EWE monument

Seems the Acadia Parish Police Jury needs some help in their efforts to refurbish the Edwin Edwards plaque that is on the grounds of the parish courthouse. Several months ago the monument was defaced and a bronze bust of the four time governor was taken. Now the Police Jury wants to restore the monument.

The catch is no one seems to know the year or who erected the plaque, thus ordering another bust becomes quite a task.

If anyone out there knows who erected the plaque or any othr particulars on this monument please call Terry Lacombe at 788-8800.

ULL wins

The Lady Cajuns of UL-Lafayette went to Baton Rouge this weekend and returned to Cajun Country with the Regional Championship. The Lady Cajuns notched wins over Texas A&M and LSU to capture the four team tournament without a loss. The win now enables the Lady Cajuns to advance to the Super Regionals this weekend where they will take on UCLA in a best of three series. The Super Regional will be played in Los Angeles.

Best of luck to the Lady Cajuns in their quest for a berth in the College Wolrd Series.

Congratulations to those being honored by the Crowley Chamber of Commerce this week at their annual banquet. From the youngsters to the people of the year, all are fitting for the awards and honors. Congratulations to all. Incidentally, the Chamber banquet is this Thurusday evening.
