Potier, Soileau united in holy matrimony
Andrea Brooke Potier and Gregory Dale Soileau were united in marriage on January 24, 2009 during a 7 p.m. ceremony at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church in Lafayette. Father Timothy Richard officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Thad Potier and
the late Sonya Connolly. She is the granddaughter of Aline Hayes, Margaret Potier and the late Ray James Potier and the great granddaughter of Myrtle Guidry.
Brooke is a graduate of Louisiana Community College majoring in early childhood education. She is currently employed as a human resource coordinator at Lowe’s.
The groom is the son of Dale and Jeanne Soileau. He is the grandson of Mavis Dupre and the late Curley Dupre and the late Mr. and Mrs. Yves Soileau.
Greg is a graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he received a bachelor of science degree in applied life sciences. He is currently employed by the family business, Acadiana Pest Control.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of duchess satin with beaded embroidery which blanketed the bodice and was trimmed with peaked bands at the empire. An A-line skirt beautifully edged with scalloped embroidery fell beneath a satin band that continued onto the chapel length train. She carried a clutch bouquet of Sahara white roses with ivory berries and white hydrangea.
Dionne Miller, sister of the groom; served as the bride’s matron of honor while Mary Beth Clark, cousin of the bride; served as the bridesmaid.
Jason Soileau, brother of the groom; served as the groom’s best man and Trent Connolly, brother of the bride; served as the groomsman.
Serving as flower girls were Sarah Miller and Anne Marie Miller, nieces of the groom. Preforming the duties of ring bearer was Seth Stewart, son of the bride.
Todd Miller, brother-in-law of the groom; and Jon Statin, friend of the groom; served as ushers.
After returning from a honeymoon to St. Thomas, in the Virgin Islands, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
