Queb’s Picks: Another tough week for most
By Chris Quebedeaux
Week 6 proved to be another tough week on contestants in the Crowley Post-Signal Football Contest.
Although there were only two contestants who missed 10 or more games, the majority of the entries hovered around the eight-loss mark.
Matthew Miguez didn’t have that problem. Miguez claimed the overall top prize by missing just three games. Dustin Touchet rebounded from 13 losses a week ago to miss just four last week, claiming second place honors over Jimmy Gotte by virtue of the tiebreaker.
With LSU and Michigan falling short in their upset bids, I missed six games.
Francis Morvant and Roderick Campbell rounded out the standings, each with 10 misses.
Now on with the picks:
On the prep level, I’m going with Notre Dame over Rayne, Kaplan over North Vermilion, Erath over Abbeville, Crowley over Church Point, Eunice over Iowa, Barbe over Acadiana, New Iberia over Westgate, Dutchtown over St. Amant, Lake Arthur over Iota, Beau Chene over Opelousas, Northside over Breaux Bridge, Lutcher over Belle Chasse, Vidalia over Bolton, Buckeye over Bunkie, Arcadia over Jena, Patterson over E.D. White and Gueydan over Hanson.
In the college ranks, I’m going with UL-Lafayette over Western Kentucky, Florida over Arkansas, Alabama over South Carolina and USC over Notre Dame.
The St. Thomas More game was listed incorrectly and will be a freebie for all.
