Ragin' Cajuns host Fan Day

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team will hold its annual Fan Day Saturday, Feb. 14, at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. for the free event.

The first 500 fans to enter the front gates of “The Tigue” will receive complimentary hot dogs and Coca-Cola products, and free autograph books will be available while supplies last. Fans will also be able to pick up Ragin’ Cajuns baseball posters, pocket schedules and special Ragin’ Cajuns Valentine’s Day candies, courtesy the UL Athletic Department. The concession stand will also be open during the festivities.

Fans will get their first up-close look at this season’s Ragin’ Cajuns team during an autograph and picture session that will last until noon. In addition to current student-athletes, former Cajuns and current professional players will also be on hand to sign autographs and take photos.

At noon, the Cajuns will hold their Home Run Hitting Contest, followed by the Fan Day Intrasquad Game at 1 p.m.

Louisiana will open the 2009 regular season when it hosts national power Nebraska for a weekend series beginning Friday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. at “The Tigue”.
