Rayne’s Menard headlines weekend fight card

On Saturday June 4th in Rayne at the Rayne Civic Center, “Bad” Chad’s Boxncar Promotions will host yet another, spectacular night of live professional boxing.

In the eight-round main event of the evening’s seven fights, is an absolute must-see. Rayne’s own “Rock Hard Mighty” Mason Menard will do battle with Fernando Rodriguez, probably the toughest fight of Mason’s career.

Coming back after taking some time off, the 2008 U.S. Olympic alternate Quantis Graves will take on very tough, hard working Jamell Williams in a four-round bout at the Cruiserweight limit. Quantis has been training in Lafayette every week with the Boxncar stable.

Florida heavyweight sensation Nathaniel Heaven will also be in a four-round bout against hard hitting Mike Lane. All weight classes will be in action!

In what is expected to be one of the better fights of the night, “Blazin and Amazin” Todd Manuel will step back into the ring following a Vegas outting to fight Travis “Dirty Red” Scott, a Baton Rouge native who boasts an undefeated record with 7 wins, no losses and 3 KO’s.

Josh Joseph from Lafayette will take on durable, hardworking Miguel Alfaro in a four-round bout at the welterweight limit. Alfaro is with a new trainer and this fight will not disappoint.

In a six-round bout, Bobby “The Prodigy” Bryant will take on Juliano Ramos, the same guy who Jarred Leblanc tore his tendon against.

Bailey “Bang Bang” Bobbitt will also be back in action in a six-round bout with Omid Bahareini, the same guy Bailey beat up for five and a half rounds in March at the Hilton, before he was caught with a wide left hook, sending Bailey down to the canvass, unable to get back to his feet. With the loss, this has caused something to come alive inside of Bailey as he is working double and triple time. No matter who Bailey has across from him, he is sure to please everyone in attendance.

Please get your tickets now -- only one side of the Civic Center will be used for seating and a sell-out crowd is expected. Get your tickets at Red’s, Planet Nutrition (Johnston St.), Cajun Fitness (Rayne) or online at www.boxncar.com. General admission is $20 in advance ($30 at the door). A few $800 tables remain. See you there!
