Rayne All-star teams continue to collect wins

Baseball all-star teams of the 2013 Rayne Recreation Summer Program participated in successful area tournaments over the weekend.
The two Pinto All-Star teams traveld to Kinder for their district tournament.
The Pinto Americans (Hurricanes) took runner-up honors, falling just short in the finals against the hosting Kinder All-Stars. With their top-two finish, they now qualify for their super regional slated this weekend in neighboring Crowley.
The Pinto Nationals tallied a 3-2 record before falling in the semirfinals to Iowa during the weekend tournament.
In Mustang action, the two Rayne All-Star teams traveled to Crowley for their district tournament.
The Rayne Americans (Storm) All-Stars took home the Mustang Section champiinship banner with a come-from behind 9-8 win over Crowley. They will now travel to Erath this weekend where they will participate in their super regional tournament with action slated to begin FRiday evening.
The Rayne Mustang Nationals All-Stars posted a 2-2 record but fell short of the finals with a semi-final loss to Crowley.
The Rayne Bronco All-Stars traveled to Jennings over the weekend for their district tournament. Action continued into Tuesday evening when Rayne defeated Jennings for the district championship, 13-3. They finished the weekend with a 4-0 record, defeating each opponent with a 10-run rule win. Rayne will now advance to their Super Regionals in Lafayette by the BYYA this weekend.
In Pony action, the Rayne All-Stars took the weekend to prepare for their district tournament slated for July 10-14 in Rayne. They were scheduled to open play against Welsh in their first game Wednesday afternoon. Their super regionals are slated next weekend in Crowley with a final-two finish.
