Rayne Hihg plans 2008 Homecoming
Rayne High School’s 2008 Homecoming Week will be held Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, with a full schedule of activities slated as announced by RHS principal Bobby Hamlin and faculty sponsor Beth Goins.
This year’s Homecoming will honor the classes of 1918, ’28, ‘38, ‘48, ‘58, ‘68, ‘78, ‘88, and 1998.
Mayor Jim Petitjean will be joined at City Hall by members of the soon to be announced Homecoming Court on Tuesday, Sept. 23, when he will sign the official proclamation proclaiming “Rayne High School Homecoming Week 2008.”
In addition to daily activities planned for the students and alumni, the annual Homecoming Parade will be held on Thursday, Oct 2, beginning at 6 p.m. at Rayne Central Kindergraten and concluding at the school.
The annual Friday morning Homecoming Day Alumni Reception will begin at 9:30 a.m. with registration for RHS alumni. The Alumni Reception will begin at 10 a.m. in the school library.
Later that afternoon beginning at 2 p.m., students and guests will enjoy the Homecoming Pep Rally in the school’s north gym.
During the 2008 Homecoming Game, the Wolves will host the Kaplan Pirates during a 7 p.m. contest. During halftime activities, the Homecoming Court will be introduced and the new queen crowned.
