Rayne police arrest man for drug offenses

RAYNE – Rayne Police officers arrested Jeremy George for multiple drug offenses after receiving calls regarding reckless driving.

On March 19, 2009, at 10:40 PM, the Rayne Police Department received complaints of Jeremy George driving recklessly in the John Drive area.  Upon the officers arrival, they made contact with Jeremy George, and learned that he had an outstanding warrant with the Rayne City Court.  When George was arrested, he had multiple controlled dangerous substances without the proper prescription in his possession.

He was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled dangerous substance, possession of a schedule III controlled dangerous substance and possession of a schedule IV controlled dangerous substance.  Jeremy George was released on bond and is awaiting trial.

Chief Carroll Stelly states that “the public’s help is always needed and appreciated.  We need everyone’s assistance in keeping our streets safe.  You never know when a simple call regarding reckless driving can result in the apprehension of a felon.”
