Record crowds at the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival?

BREAUX BRIDGE – Sunny skies trumped swine flu when it came to packing the festival grounds at Parc Hardy Saturday.

There was a cloudburst Sunday, but by then nobody cared. It was soon over and the party went on until closing time.

The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival is 49 years old this year.

Saturday's big events included the World Famous Crawfish Races, crawfish eating contest, and zydeco and Cajun dance contests.

Sunday, Ben Huval won the Etouffée Cooking Contest. Miriam Castille Huval and Shadelle Huval came in second, followed by the team of Emmeline DeVillier, Jeff Green and Larry Touchet.
