Reggie earns All-Academic honors

CROWLEY – Former Episcopal School of Acadiana standout Mary Doris Reggie was recently named to the 2010 Division III All-Academic Track and Field Team by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Reggie, who recently wrapped up her senior year at Amherst College in Massachusetts, was one of three team captains on the women's track team this season.

The Crowley native had a stellar season on the track, qualifying for the 2010 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio by running a 2:12.44 in the 800-meter run at the Oneonta State Meet. She ran a personal best 2:12.23 at nationals and placed 10th overall out of a field of 17 runners. The time was the second fastest in the school's history.

Reggie graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and will be attending Tulane Law School starting in two weeks.

Mary Doris is the daughter of Gregory and Terese Reggie of Crowley.
