Registrar’s office sets voting dates, deadlines; announces meeting
CROWLEY - Acadia Parish Registrar of Voters, Billie Meyer, released three press releases earlier this week to inform Acadia Parish voters of a registration deadline, an early voting deadline and to announce a meeting of the Board of Election Supervisors.
The last day for parish residents to vote in the Oct. 19 open primary election will be Sept. 18. Registration will end at 4:30 p.m. Regular office hours at the Registrar’s Office are from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Those wishing to register should bring one of the following documents for proper identification: current Louisiana driver’s license, current Louisiana identification card, birth certificate and/or baptismal certificate.
It was also announced that early voting for the Oct. 19 open primary election will begin Saturday, Oct. 5 and resume from Monday, Oct. 7 thru Friday, Oct. 12. Proper identification required for early voters is a current Louisiana driver’s license or a current Louisiana identification card and a voter identification card.
Those who require assistance during early voting or when they go to their voting precinct on election day are required to bring a physician’s certificate or excuse stating the reason they need assistance. Either of these documents are to be given to the registrar or to the commissioner who will then deliver them to the registrar.
A meeting of the Acadia Parish Board of Election Supervisors will be held in the Registrar of Voters Office, located at 568 Northwest Court Circle in Crowley, at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 to draw the commissioners for the Oct. 19 election.
The meeting is open to the public.
