Relay for Life to kick off with Delhi event

Communities nationwide are joining the fight against cancer by participating in Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society’s team event to fight cancer.

Richland Parish is gearing up do its part again this year after raising over $24,000 in 2008 that helped service over 1,300 newly diagnosed patients with free services in the Northeast Louisiana area.

“We’re excited about our plans for this year and look forward to having new teams and participants join us,” said Jennifer Mills, area director of the Monroe ACS office. “This kick off is just the beginning of great things to come.”

Community members are invited to learn more information about Relay for Life of Richland Parish at the official kick-off from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Civic Center in Delhi. Food will be provided.

This year’s Relay For Life event is scheduled to take place on May 8 at Delhi High School.
