Renola Vincent Foreman
Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Leroy, Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. for Renola Vincent Foreman, 91, who died peacefully surrounded by her family Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Interment was in the Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Cemetery, in Leroy.
Surviving are four sons, Carl Foreman and wife, Mary, of Indian Bayou, Allen Foreman, AL, Michael Foreman and wife, Angela, of Lafayette, and Gregory Foreman of Indian Bayou; one daughter, Ruth Marceaux and husband, Melvin, of Indian Bayou, ten grandchildren; twenty- two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie Hebert of Crowley, and Winona Lagros of Beaumont, TX; two brothers, Percy Vincent and wife, Pat, of Silsby, TX, and EJ Vincent and wife, Angie, of Orange, TX; and one sister-in-law, Marion Vincent of Port Natches, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Winfred Foreman; parents, Otis Vincent, Sr. and Noemie Hebert Vincent; and two brothers, Otis Vincent, Jr. and Emery Vincent.
She was born Tuesday, October 26, 1920, in Abbeville, daughter of the late Otis Vincent, Sr. and the late Noemie Hebert Vincent.
She was a wonderful cook who cooked the best butter beans in the world. She loved knitting and crocheting. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who always looked forward to visits from her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She was a faithful teacher of CCD classes for many years and is so very loved by all of her family.
A special thanks to her granddaughter/caretaker and best friend, Jennifer “Gertrude junior” Foreman. Also a thank to Dr. Gupta who stood by her until the end, and Dr. Fazal and all the nurses and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and Hospice Compassus.
A rosary was recited Friday, December 17, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home.
Friends were received at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, Friday, December 16, 2011, 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, Decemeber 17, 2011, 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
