Abbeville—Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 06, 2008 at a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church honoring the lives of Richard Broussard and Mary Ann Broussard, who died Monday, September 01, 2008 in Baton Rouge.
They will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery with Reverend William Blanda officiating the services.
He was a retired self employed business man, who regularly attended retreats at our Lady of the Oaks Retreat House in Grand Coteau, and a member of the Men of Mary Rosary Group. Dicky was an avid outdoorsman and a member of the Delta Waterfowl Association.
She was retired from the Vermilion Parish School Board as an educator with over 26 years of service, a tour guide for the City of Abbeville and a member of Come Lord Jesus Prayer Group.
They both taught CCD summer religion classes and were members of Holy Family Share Group for 25 years.
They are survived by their three daughters, Michelle Goodyear of Abbeville, Simonne Whitworth of Erath and Colette LaLonde and her husband Kenneth of Abbeville. His sister Barbara Broussard Stansbury of Lafayette and brother Keith Broussard of Zwolle, LA. Their grandchildren Brent Goodyear Jr., Andrew Goodyear, Miranda Hebert, Skyla Whitworth, Brandi LaLonde and Amber LaLonde and a great grandchild, Emma Claire Hebert.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oris Broussard and Rose Simon Broussard; and a brother, Oris Broussard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Charles Darby and Irene Perrodin Darby.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home - Abbeville, 209 S. St. Charles Street, on Friday, August 05, 2008 from noon until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time
