Richardelle to march at bowl game again

Danielle Richardelle will end 2008 the same way she started it, by marching at a college football bowl game.

Danielle, a 2008 graduate of Erath High School, is a member of the Louisiana Tech University Band of Pride. The band will be performing at the Independence Bowl on December 28 in Shreveport when the Bulldogs of LA Tech take on the Northern Illinois University Huskies.

As a senior at Erath High School, Danielle marched at the Allstate Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day as a member of the “Pride of Erath” marching band. The Erath High Band tied for first place at the Magnolia Marching Festival in Slidell in October of 2007. Their reward was to be part of a “super band” that performed before and at halftime of the game between Georgia and Hawaii. This “super band” consisted of over two thousand band members from across the country.

“That was the highlight of my high school band career. Thanks to my band mates at Erath and Mr. Kenny Broussard, our director, we were able to put together a great show and have this wonderful experience.”

About this season’s game, Danielle added, “We have our great Bulldog football team and Coach Dooley to thank for this opportunity. We’ve worked hard all season, and we’re going to put on a great show for everyone there and a national television audience.”

The Independence Bowl between Louisiana Tech and NIU kicks off at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December, 28, 2008. The game will be broadcast on ESPN and is the only college game today.
