Ricky Lynn Spell
Jennings - Funeral services for Ricky Lynn Spell, 55, will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Ted Freeland officiating. Ricky passed away early Wednesday morning at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 7 from 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume on Friday, January 8 at 8 a.m. until the time of his services. Ricky will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
Ricky Lynn, son of the late Horace Spell and Betty Hoffpauir, was a resident of Iota. He was an oil field solid control operator for Scomi Oil Tools, Inc. He was very well liked and respected by all of his fellow employees. Ricky was a hard worker and took pride in performing his duties. He was also a fun person to be around and loved to have a good time. He enjoyed going fishing every chance he would get. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ricky leaves behind to cherish his memories his beloved mother, Betty Hoffpauir Spell of Jennings; two sons, Richard Ray Spell of Vinton and Darrick Paul Soileau of Moss Bluff; five brothers, Ronald (Janet) Spell of Moss Bluff, Michael (Mona) Spell of Bundicks Lake, Stevie (Jan) Spell of Jennings, Roy (Tammy) Spell of Jennings, and Kurtis (Carol) Spell of New Hampshire; one sister, Malissa Spell of Jennings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Spell; and one brother, Rudy Spell.
