Rigney M. Pousson
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota for Rigney M. Pousson, 86, who died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 9:50 p.m. in Iota.
Mr. Pousson was native and lifelong resident of Iota. He spent many years farming and retired fromthe maintenance department and bus driving at the Iota State School. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the Air Force. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Fr. Mikel Polson, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Mausoleum.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-six years, Audrey Deshotel Pousson of Iota; four daughters, Cheryl P. Hillman and her husband Michael of Houston, Texas, Darlene P. Myers and her husband Mike of Eudora, Ark., Joy P. LaCombe and her husband Harlan of Iota, Rosie P. Thevis and her husband Wayne of Iota; three sons, Carlos Pousson and his wife Pam of Lucedale, Miss, Marcus Pousson and his wife Barbara of Papillion, Neb. and Rigney M. Pousson, Jr. and his wife Paula of Iota; one brother, Gilton Pousson of Iota; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Seth LaCombe, Garrett LaCombe, Steven Myers, Eric Myers, Ben Thevis, Jacob Pousson, Adam Pousson, Darren Pousson and Joe Pousson.
Mr. Pousson was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Pamela Ann Pousson; his parents, Martin and Odile V. Pousson.
