River Fest 2009 planned in Park

LAKE ARTHUR - Once again, the band called “RIVER”, is returning to Lake Arthur to begin its 2009 Concert Tour of Classic Rock-N-Roll music.

A focus on the family is planned for fun, music, food, fun-jump and games Saturday, March 21, 2009 in Lake Arthur City Park beginning at noon.

The band is from Illinois and has performed in Lake Arthur for the past two years.

Local businesses are credited with obtaining the band, as well as local musicians such as DJ Glen LeBlanc at noon; The Doland/Green Project at 2 p.m.; Louisiana Fiya at 5 p.m. and River at 7 p.m.

There is no admission charge and the public is invited to bring lawn chairs and enjoy music, fun jumps, food, games and more.

The band called “River,” is a band of brothers who get together and go to NASCAR events, biker events, community festivals and other family-oriented gatherings.

They are all volunteers -- no one gets paid, and they even bring their own stage.

They ask nothing but to be with people, and they are often asked to pray for those who are needy.

They are not ashamed to be believers in Jesus although they believe He loves us all.

A prayer service will be conducted by Pastor Barry Steed, beginning with a “Praise and Worship” in Lake Arthur City Park on Sunday, March 22 at 10 a.m.

All persons of all faiths are invited to attend and enjoy the festivities by this special band.
