Robbery suspects arrested

RAYNE – The Rayne Police Department solved an armed robbery involving two suspects.

On March 9, 2009, detectives with the Rayne Police Department executed two search warrants simultaneously in an armed robbery investigation. The homes of William Terrell Francis, located on Bailey Street and Rayward Clayton Gibson Jr., on Lyman Street, both of Rayne, were searched per an order signed by Rayne City Judge Jim Cunningham.

Within the home of William Terrell Francis, officers located rock cocaine and marijuana. Officers also located items stolen from a local business. Francis was arrested and charged with Possession of a schedule II CDS, cocaine, illegal possession of stolen goods, first degree robbery, and simple possession of marijuana.

Rayward Clayton Gibson Jr. was arrested and charged with first degree robbery and simple battery.

Bond on Francis was set at $70,000 and $37,000. Both suspects were booked in to the Rayne City Jail.
