CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Robert Anthony Guidry, 83, who died Saturday, January 17, 2009 at his residence in Crowley.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of Saint Michaels, will celebrate the Mass and the Committal services at the Woodlawn Mausoleum. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Monday evening. The family requested visitation be observed from 4 p.m. Monday until 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Guidry was born July 19, 1925 in Church Point to the late Earnest and Daisy David Guidry. He was a member of Saint Michaels Catholic Church.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country during WWII. Robert and Ninfa owned Portraits by Ninfa in Crowley for many, many years. He loved to fish and spending time outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ninfa Gianfala Guidry of Crowley, two daughters, Maxine Louise Guidry of Crowley and Lana Guidry Keigley and her husband, William “Wingy” Keigley; a granddaughter, Ashley A. Monceaux and her husband, Chris of Crowley; four great-grandchildren, Blaine, Madison, Alice and Lillie Monceaux; three step-grandchildren, Christie Reviere, Kim Foreman and Trey Keigley; six step great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Leblanc of Church Point; a brother, Jack Guidry and his wife, Jackie of New Orleans, a sister-in-law, Evelyn G. Gravel of Alexandria and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brother-in-laws, Camille F. Gravel and Wilbur Leblanc.
The Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Guidry, Vic Gianfala, Lannie Leblanc, Wilson Abshire, Harry Faulk, Louis Hebert, Dalton Monceaux, Kenneth Gianfala and Bill Gianfala
The family request any memorial donations be made to Saint Michael Elementary, Saint Jude’s Hospital or Heart of Hospice.
