Robert Ray Linscombe
CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Northside Assembly of God Church in Crowley for Robert Ray Linscombe, 44, who passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 12:50 p.m. at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Rev. Russell Linscombe, Rev. Larry Myers and Rev. Loyd Singley will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
From an early age, Robert enjoyed the outdoors—camping, hunting and fishing with family and friends. He later developed an avid interest in NASCAR and went to the Talladega races several times with friends and even brought his father once. A true Louisianan, he was a big fan of LSU and the Saints as well. He was a good cook and enjoyed entertaining his family and friends with his Cajun cooking. Robert had a huge heart—never met a stranger and touched everyone he came into contact with.
Robert is survived by three daughters, Katie Linscombe of Gueydan and Kami and Keeley Linscombe both of Welsh; one son, Robert Oran Linscombe of Welsh; the mother of his children, Darla Crochet and her husband Craig of Welsh; his father, Bobby Linscombe and his wife Cindy of Crowley; one sister, Lisa L. LeBlanc of Youngsville; his niece and nephew, Jami and Jarrett LeBlanc of Hathaway; his maternal grandparents, Gurvis and Elvie Leger of Jennings; 10 very special nieces and nephews; stepsister, Ann Lege’ of Crowley; and stepbrother, Chris Lege’ of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Neva Leger Linscombe; and his paternal grandparents, Oran and Velma Linscombe.
Pallbearers will be Robert Oran Linscombe, Jarrett LeBlanc, Troy Mire, Chris Lege’, Randy Leger, Ray May and Kevin Gauthreaux.
The family would like to thank Dr. Katira and the ICU staff of American Legion Hospital for all their care and support.
