Ronald J. Walsh
LAFAYETTE – Ronald J. Walsh, 64 died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at his home in Lafayette. Ron was a native of Crowley and had a long career in the oil and gas industry. He was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corp. veteran who served his country in the Vietnam War.
Ron is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis Schexnider Walsh of Lafayette. One daughter and son in law, Erica Walsh Hogue and Marc Hogue of Lafayette. One grandson, Sage Credeur of Lafayette. One step grandson, Jake Hogue of Erath. One brother, Billy Joe Walsh of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Walsh and Leota Stakes Walsh of Crowley.
He donated his body to LSU Medical Center in New Orleans as a contribution to help educate future doctors and assist in medical research. At his request a memorial service will be held in a few weeks for close family and friends. He also ask in lieu of flowers that a contribution be made in his name to either St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or to The Wounded Warriors Project to help our military veterans.
