Rosa “Mom Rose” Bourque
DUSON –– Funeral services were held Wednesday September 9, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson for Rosa “Mom Rose” Bourque, 81, who died Monday, September 7, 2009, in Duson.
Survivors include two daughters,
Sandra Bourque and Gloria Bourque, both of Duson; four sons, Allen Bourque, of Broussard, Larry Bourque, of Indiana, Sidney Bourque, Jr., of Morgan City, and Randy Bourque, of Duson; one brother, Gabriel Menard, of Rayne; and one sister, Rosa Lee Dupuis of Rayne. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Bourque, Sr.; parents, Leonard ”Yank” and Effie Navarre Menard; and a brother, Edward Menard.
Pallbearers were Shane Desormeaux, Ryan Desormeaux, Jonason Bourque, Josh Bourque, Chris Bourque, Tommy Daigle, Ty Thomas and Leonard Bourque. Honorary pallbearers were Eric and Alex Bourque.
The family wishes to thank Heart of Hospice, and family and friends for the special care and support given to “Mom Rose” during her brief illness.
Visitation was Tuesday from 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., until time of services Wednesday.
