Rosemary Moreau Richard
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday February 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Rosemary Moreau Richard, 82.
Father Clint Trahan, associate pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne will officiate.
Musical selections will be done by Ronald Moreau Sr., Ronald Moreau Jr., and Frances Moreau Phillips; organist will be Phyllis R. Simar.
Rosemary, a native of Leonville La., died Sunday February 13, 2011 at Louisiana Extended care Hospital in Lafayette, La.
She is survived by her daughters, Olivia Rayburn of Rayne, and Darlene and her husband Kenneth Primeaux of Kaplan; six grandchildren Kelli Bourque, Erik Bourque, Lukas and his wife Sheila Bourque, Kenneth and his wife Niki Primeaux Jr., Aimee and her husband Timothy Monaghan and Adam Primeaux. She is also survived by her three great grandchildren, Alexis Rose Bourque, Lane Martin Primeaux, and Benjamin Josiah Monaghan; her brother Ronald John and his wife Floyanne Moreau, Sr.; and three sisters-in-laws Judy Moreau McClaran, Patricia Moreau, and Dorothy Moreau; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, the Ladies Altar Society, she was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School class of 1945, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and was an avid member of three pokeno clubs. She was also a retired member of the RHS Band Boosters Club, a retired CCD teacher, and a retired Eucharistic Minister, and also was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church good Samaritans.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Primeaux, Jr. Adam Primeaux, Erik Bourque, Lukas Bourque, Jeffery M. Moreau, and Timothy Monaghan; honorary pallbearers will be Donald R. Moreau, Michael Hebert, Hubert B. Robichaux, Phillip B. Moreau, and Ronald J. Moreau, Jr.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Hayward Martin Richard, her parents F.R. and Louise Rivette Moreau, three brothers Samuel, Raymond, and Gerald Moreau, and one sister-in-law Mary Moreau, and her father and mother-in-law Martin and Olivia Richard.
Visitation will be held at Duhon Funeral Home in Rayne, Wednesday February 16, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services.
Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
