CROWLEY – At Tuesday’s meeting of the Crowley Rotary Club, District Governor Mike Collins was the guest speaker.
Collins commended the Crowley club for all of the projects they do in the community, such as Rebuilding Together and the Community Outreach Corporation with Faith House, and getting young people involved in the projects.
Collins professed admiration for the large number of projects done with only a moderate number of members. “Sixty-seven members; it’s incredible what ya’ll are doing here.”
“Overall, I’d have to rate this club as an excellent club,” he said.
He also spoke about the new theme of this year’s Rotary Club, which is “Make Dreams Real.”
This years, stated Collins, “we’re focusing on our youth.
He named some ways club members can help with this new focus, such as what he called Annual Giving, or asking Rotarians to give $100 per year, which will be used in programs helping the youth in this country and all around the world. Another way of helping is through increasing membership, stated Collins. He complimented the Crowley club, whose membership has stayed steady throughout the past five years, for being a proactive club
He encouraged the club members to attend the District Conference, and urged them to participate in all the “great things” happening this year.
