Savoie, Schenk to wed in November
NEW ORLEANS - Mr. and Mrs. David M. Savoie of Crowley announce the engagement of their daughter, Lacey Louisa Savoie, Lieutenant, United States Navy, to Michael Andrew Schenk, Lieutenant, United States Navy.
The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame Catholic High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley and a 2008 graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering. She served on board the USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) in Yokosuka, Japan and the USS Truxton (DDG 103) in Norfolk, Virginia. She is currently serving at Afloat Training Group Norfolk.
Lieutenant Savoie is the granddaughter of Emilie Soileau Langley and the late Deomel Louis Langley; and of the late Rosa Mae Barousse Savoie and the late Lucien Joseph Savoie.
The prospective groom is son of Dr. and Mrs. Paul W. Schenk of Dunwoody, Georgia. He is a 2002 graduate of Dunwoody High School, a 2006 graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, and a 2007 graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School of Monterey, California, where he received a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He served on board the USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) in Yokosuka, Japan and the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) in Norfolk, Virginia. He is currently serving at the United States Fleet Forces Command.
Lieutenant Schenk is the grandson of Mary Esther DiMasi and the late John Theodore DiMasi; and of the late Marcia Ostrander Schenk and the late William Tibbetts Schenk.
The couple will be united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in New Orleans, Louisiana.
