Savoy, Smith to wed Sat., June 8

RAYNE - Casey Brook Savoy and Joshua Joseph Smith, both of Estherwood, have announced their engagement and commitment to be wed on the evening of Saturday, June 8, at the historic Warehouse Event Center in Rayne. Justice of the Peace Wayne Doucet will officiate the 7 p.m. nuptial ceremony.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Patricia and Wesley Doucet of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Gloria Doucet of Rayne and the late Calvin Doucet, and Lebertha Savoy of Church Point and the late Roy Savoy.

Casey graduated from Crowley High School in 2006 before completing the medical assistant program at Louisiana Technical College in Crowley. She is presently employed at Acadia Women’s Health in Crowley, where she has been since 2008.

The prospective groom is the son of Sharon and Sherman Smith Jr. of Crowley. He is the grandson of Betty and Newjay Richard and Deanna and Sherman Smith Sr., all of Crowley.

Joshua, who graduated from Crowley High School in 2002, attended Louisiana State University at Eunice before accepting his current employment with Precision Drilling in 2005.

Following their marriage, the couple will reside in Estherwood.
