School board declares May 3-9 Teachers and staff appreciation week
The Tangipahoa Parish School Board on Tuesday night approved a measure to declare the week of May 3-9 as teacher and staff appreciation week.
Voted unanimously by the Board based on a joint motion and joint second, the Board "congratulates teachers and classified staff members for their ongoing contributions to education, and for the key roles they play in promoting and ensuring student achievement, student safety and well-being."
The board adopted a formal, written resolution, which was read during the full board meeting by Superintendent Mark Kolwe and entered into the public record for posterity. The Board also plans to send copies of the signed resolution to all schools to display during their Appreciation Week activities in May.
