Semien family holds family fun day
The Semien family gathered September 20, at the home of Velma Davis in Ville Platte to celebrate their heritage.
The family fun day is a day set aside each year for the descendents and heirs of Allie and the late Wilson Semien to gather to have fun and enjoy planned activities, music, food and conversation. This is the seventh year of the event.
The siblings of Davis came from near and far for the annual event. The idea for the gathering came from one of the siblings, Donald Semien, seven years ago. Each year, the “fun day” is hosted by one of the siblings of the Semien family. In 2009, the family will travel to Lake Charles, where the fun day will be hosted by Gerri Thomas. Two siblings, Lois Williams and Rogers Semien, are deceased.
The fun day event was attended by approxmately 75 family members, including siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
