Shelby Jean Truax
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, NOvmeber 6, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Crowley for Shelby Jean Truax, 67, who died Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 4:12 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Father David Broussard, pastor of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kaplan officiated for the services.
The family request ed visiting hours Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home and Monday from 8:30 a.m. to service time at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
A rosary was recited Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial was in Sensat Cemetery in Egan.
Ms. Truax is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Z. Voitier and Gretchen Zaunbrecher both of Crowley; two sons, Damian Craig Zaunbrecher and his wife, Shonda, of Jennings, Bradley Charles Zaunbrecher and his wife, Becky, of Egan; her parents, Shelby and Audrey S. Truax of Egan; three sisters, Glenda T. Thevis and her husband, Michael, of Orange, TX, Geralyn T. Pousson and her husband, John, of Covington (also her godchild), Debbie T. Hebert and her husband, Cecil, of Egan; one brother, Roderick Stanford “Ricky” Truax and his wife, Mary Jo, of Sulphur; thirteen grandchildren, Benjamin Paul Voitier, Joseph Conrad Voitier, Mary Katherine Voitier, Angelica Paige Z. Nunez, Lacey Z. Guinn, Jesslyn Kate Zaunbrecher, Kali Michelle Zaunbrecher, Michael Blain Zaunbrecher, Shelley Z. Bendily, Stefan Shane Zaunbrecher, Bradley Shea Zaunbrecher, Caroline Elise Cassedy, Jack Ashton Cassedy; three great-grandchildren, Jon Luke and Millie Jane Bendily, Philip Lane Guinn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ms. Truax was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jacob Craig Zaunbrecher and Rustin Roy Cassedy; one son-in-law, Stephen Conrad Voitier.
Pallbearers were Craig Zaunbrecher, Bradley Zaunbrecher, Ben Voitier, Joe Voitier, Michael Thevis and John Pousson. Honorary pallbearers were Blain Zaunbrecher, Stefan Zaunbrecher, Shea Zaunbrecher and Jack Cassedy, Danny Thevis and Andrew Hebert.
