Shower held honoring Ashley Sarver and Josh Abshire
CROWLEY - A couples shower was held in honor of the forthcoming marriage of Ashley Elizabeth Sarver and Joshua Todd Abshire.
On the evening of September 24, guests gathered at the Crowley home of Francis and Julie Burleigh to celebrate their engagement. Along with the Burleighs, hosts included their daughters Emily Burleigh and Lizzie Burleigh, as well as Bryan and Beth McBride.
In keeping with the bride’s color scheme of silver and Navy blue, silver buckets were placed strategically throughout the party and filled with white mums. Navy blue napkins and ribbons were used for decorations. Tiki torches around the pool added a tropical touch.
The 60 guests were treated to jambalaya, coleslaw, spinach bread, various dips, fruit, cheese and vegetable trays.
Traveling from Texas, Georgia, Tennessee and various points in Louisiana, guests also enjoyed petit fours, red velvet cake balls and dark chocolate dipped mint Oreo cookies.
The parents of the bride-to-be are Thomas and Jody Gardiner Sarver of Crowley. Her maternal grandparents are Thomas and Elizabeth “Sis” Gardiner of Crowley. Her paternal grandparents are Larry and Shirley Sarver of Crowley.
Josh is the son of Jody and Julie Abshire of Kaplan. The groom-elect’s maternal grandparents are the late Ralph and Janie Foreman. His paternal grandparents are Edison and Mitha Abshire of Kaplan.
Ashley and Josh will be married at St. Michael Catholic Church and Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate the wedding ceremony on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 7 p.m.
